Currently, in Korea, the Office charges a fee for the filing of 62,000 KRW (around 53 USD) per class for electronic and 72,000 KRW (~62 USD) for application on paper. An additional charge of 2,000 KRW per good is applied when the number of designated goods for each class exceeds 20.
If the applicant wants to claim the right of priority for the examination, an additional fee of 18,000 KRW (15.4 USD), per class will be charged for electronic application and 20,000 KRW for paper-based application.
The official registration fee in Korea is 211,000 KRW (near 190 USD), which includes the cost for 10-year maintenance and an additional 9,120 KRW on taxes per mark. A 5-year installment (instead of 10-year) of 132,000 KRW is also possible. An additional charge of 2,000 KRW per good is applied when the number of designated goods for each class exceeds 20. These official fees must be paid to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).
In addition, when the registration is processed through a law firm/agent, attorney fees are incurred at the time of application and registration. These costs vary for each law firm and also depend on the complexity of each case.
